Challenging task about a polyhedron
(challenging task called “the star”)
It consists of 6 symmetrical small bars of complex shapes combined in the shape of a multi-faceted star. The task is to disassemble it into small parts and then assemble it back together and get the same figure. This “game” was produced in USSR and proved to be very popular.
There was no mentioning of the name of that polyhedron. In fact, this is a stellated polyhedron in the form of a cube and octahedron assembled. The full name of the polyhedron will be as follows – the first stellated form of rhombododecahedron.
It is still possible to find this game nowadays; however, it is produced only with wooden bars.
