Small rhombicosidodecahedron

rhombicosidodecahedron 350

The polyhedron is obtained on the basis of the operation of mathematical expansion (for more detail, No. 21 of the Magic Faces).

A small rhombicosidodecahedron is a semi-correct convex polyhedron with two properties:
1. All faces are regular polygons of three types - a pentagon, a quadrilateral and a triangle;
2. For any pair of vertices, there is a symmetry of the polyhedron (that is, a motion that translates the polyhedron into itself) that transforms one vertex to another.

Архимед

The small rhombicosidodecahedron is one of the 13 solids of Archimedes.

Archimedean solids are semiregular polyhedra in the sense that their faces are regular polygons, but they are not the same, while the condition of one of the types of spatial symmetry: tetrahedral, octahedral or icosahedral is preserved.

Net

To assemble a small rhombicosidodecahedron, you will need to print two nets on A4 sheets.

Download net sheet 1.

Download net sheet 2.

For printing, you can use both white and colored paper.

If you are using a color printer, then we suggest downloading a color net of a truncated icosa-dodecahedron.

We connect two parts of the nets into a single net as shown in the figure:

Next, we trace the net and get a polyhedron truncated small rhombicosidodecahedron

Video. Build a polyhedron from a single net

Video from our partners - the team "ART KOSEKOMA", clearly demonstrates how the net is converted into a geometric shape:
